Summary of the Story: The story is about a lady admirer of the writer. He was a young writer who received a letter from a lady who highly praised his writing. He instantly replied thanking her. In the next letter, she invited him to have a lunch at a very costly restaurant. Being young and being flattered, he could not say no. So he became a prey to the voracious lady. He had only 80 francs. He thought that he could manage the lunch easily.
