Essay - Town Life/City Life

 Introduction: Town life/city life is very attractive. In fact, it is more attractive than village life. It is full of all modern facilities. It is well developed. It is decked. It charms everyone. Facility of houses: Almost all the buildings are brick-built in a town. The buildings are well furnished. Many of them are air-conditioned. People feel more happy here than in a village. Facility of education: There are many educational institutions in a town. There are well known schools and colleges. There may be a university in a town.  

Facility of communication: A town has a good communication system. Buses, trains and taxis are available here. From here, one can easily go to any destination. It has good roads too. The roads are macadamized. There is no problem of mud here. There is a drainage system in a town. So, a town is free from water stagnation.  

Facility of sanitation: Sanitation system is much better here than in a village. The roads and paths are cleaned. Medical facilities are available in a town. Medicine experts treat here. So, town people enjoy more medical facilities. Facility of recreation: Town people enjoy recreational facilities. There are many places to spend free time in a town. There are parks, cinemas, public libraries, museums, zoo, shopping centers etc. here.  

Facility of income: There are many sources of income in a town life. There are many industries in a town. There are many business places here. N.G.O. and governmental offices are available here. So, people get jobs here easily. Other facilities: A town has facilities that a village does not have. Facilities like gas, lights, fans, telephones, banking facilities etc. are available in a town.  

Problems/disadvantages: Where there is a plus, there is a minus. The same case happens to a town life. In other words, town life is not without some problems. It is a populous place. So, kidnapping, snatching, stabbing, raping, cheating, looting are daily incidents here. Many people remain jobless here. Out of desperation, they become addicted to drugs. Town people lead a mechanical life. They are stony-hearted. They are not so kind as villagers. They generally do not extend their helping hand to their neighbours. Some roads remain muddy and dirty in a town. Sometimes, people discharge here and there in a town.

Conclusion: Despite some disadvantages, town life is more attractive than village life. The problems should be solved as soon as possible-. For this, all should come forward.

ভূমিকা : শহর জীবন/নগর জীবন খুবই আকর্ষণীয়। প্রকৃতপক্ষে এটি গ্রাম্য জীবনের চেয়ে অধিক আকর্ষণীয়। এটি সকল আধুনিক সুযোগ- সুবিধায় পরিপূর্ণ। এটি সমৃদ্ধশালী। এটি সজ্জিত। এটি সবাইকে আকর্ষিত করে। বাসস্থানের সুবিধা : একটি শহরের অধিকাংশ দালানকোঠাই ইটের তৈরি। দালানকোঠা গুলো ভালোভাবে সাজানো থাকে। তাদের মধ্যে অনেকগুলোই শীতাতপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত। মানুষ গ্রামের থেকে এখানে বেশি বেশি সুখ-শান্তি অনুভব করে। শিক্ষার সুযোগ-সুবিধা : একটি শহরে অনেক শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান রয়েছে। সেখানে অনেক সুবিখ্যাত স্কুল এবং কলেজ রয়েছে। একটি শহরে একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ও থাকতে পারে।  

যোগাযোগের সুবিধা : একটি শহরে ভালো যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। এখানে বাস, ট্রেন এবং ট্যাক্সি সহজেই পাওয়া যায়। একজন এখান থেকে সহজেই তার গন্তব্যস্থানে যেতে পারে। এর রাস্তাঘাটও ভালো। রাস্তাঘাট খোয়া দিয়ে বাঁধানো থাকে। এখানে কাঁদা হওয়ার কোন সমস্যা নেই। শহরে নিষ্কাশনের ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। তাই একটি শহর পানি নিশ্চলতা থেকে মুক্ত।  

স্বাস্থ্যকর ব্যবস্থার সুবিধা : স্বাস্থ্যকর ব্যবস্থা এখানে একটি গ্রামের চেয়ে অনেক ভালো। রাস্তাঘাট পরিষ্কার-পরিছন্ন থাকে। শহরে মেডিকেল সুযোগ- সুবিধা অনেক সহজলভ্য। এখানে ওষুধ বিশেষজ্ঞরা চিকিৎসা করেন। তাই, শহরের মানুষ অধিক মেডিকেল সুযোগ-সুবিধা ভোগ করে।  

চিত্তবিনোদনের সুবিধা : শহুরে মানুষ চিত্তবিনোদনমূলক সুযোগ-সুবিধা উপভোগ করে। শহরে অবসর সময় কাটানোর অনেক স্থান রয়েছে। এখানে পার্ক, সিনেমা, গণ গ্রন্থাগার, যাদুঘর, চিড়িয়াখানা, শপিং সেন্টার প্রভৃতি থাকে। আয়ের সুযোগ : শহুরে জীবনে অনেক আয়ের উৎস রয়েছে। একটি শহরে অনেক কল-কারখানা রয়েছে। এখানে অনেক ব্যবসায় প্রতিষ্ঠান রয়েছে। এখানে এনজিও এবং অফিসগুলো সহজলভ্য। তাই এখানে মানুষ সহজেই চাকরি পায়।  

অন্যান্য সুযোগ সুবিধা : একটি শহরে যে সুযোগ সুবিধা রয়েছে একটি গ্রামে তা নেই। সুযোগ সুবিধাগুলো হলো গ্যাস, আলো, পাখা, টেলিফোন, ব্যাংকের সুযোগ-সুবিধা প্রভৃতি ।  

অসুবিধা : যেখানে ইতিবাচক দিক আছে, সেখানে নেতিবাচক দিকও রয়েছে। শহুরে জীবনের ক্ষেত্রেও একই ঘটনা ঘটে। অন্যকথায়, শহর জীবন সমস্যাবিহীন নয়। এটা একটি জনবহুল স্থান। তাই এখানে অপহরণ, ছিনতাই, ছুরিকাঘাত, ধর্ষণ, প্রতারণা, লুট দৈনন্দিন ঘটনা। এখানে অনেক মানুষ বেকার থাকে। বেপরোয়া অবস্থার বশবর্তী হয়ে তারা মাদকাসক্ত হয়। শহুরে লোক যান্ত্রিক জীবন যাপন করে। তারা নিষ্ঠুর হৃদয়ের। তারা গ্রামের মানুষের মতো এত দয়ালু নয়। সাধারণত তারা তাদের প্রতিবেশীদের প্রতি তাদের সহানুভূতির হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয় না। একটি শহরে কিছু রাস্তা খারাপ এবং নোংরা থাকে। মাঝে মাঝে শহরের মানুষ এখানে সেখানে মলমূত্র ত্যাগ করে । 

উপসংহার : কিছু অসুবিধা সত্ত্বেও, শহুরে জীবন গ্রাম্য জীবনের চেয়ে আকর্ষণীয়। যত দ্রুত সম্ভব সমস্যাগুলো সমাধান করা উচিত। এরজন্য সকলকেই এগিয়ে আসা উচিত।
