Essay - Cricket In Bangladesh

 Introduction: There are different games and sports in Bangladesh. Of all games, cricket is the most popular game in the country. Now the country is a test playing country. The test status shows that the country has improved much in cricket.

History: Bangladesh has not a long history in cricket. The country's Cricket Control Board was established in 1974. It got the membership of ICC in 1978. Our first one day international match was against Pakistan. Bangladesh had a long cherished dream to take part in the World Cup. It came true when it defeated Kenya in 1997. In the same year, the country got one day status. The country took part in the World Cup in 1999. Bangladesh defeated two countries in that World Cup. The whole world was astonished to see our performance. In 2000, the country got the test status. It played the first test match against India.

At present: The country is doing much better now. It is becoming stronger and stronger. It has the courage to face any country. Bangladesh has defeated all the cricket playing countries in the world. Now every country takes our country seriously. Now it is a favourite team for many. Some new faces have entered our team. They are all-rounders. They are our hope. They are showing their skill in batting and fielding. Now we should not sit idle. We have to work hard for our cricket. The government must patronize our cricket. It is said our cricket board is not free from corruption. So, corruption should be removed from there. Only the talents should be taken. There are so many cricket talents through the country. They should be found out. For this, inter- district cricket match should be held.

Conclusion: In fine, we can say that Bangladesh has a bright future in cricket. This game has made our country familiar with the world. We are hopeful of our team. We believe that we must win the World Cup one day.

ভূমিকা : বাংলাদেশে বিভিন্ন খেলাধুলা রয়েছে। সব খেলার মধ্যে আমাদের দেশে ক্রিকেট সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয়। বর্তমানে আমাদের দেশ একটা টেস্ট খেলার দেশ। টেস্ট মর্যাদা প্রদর্শন করে যে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেটে অনেক উন্নতি করেছে ।

ইতিহাস : ক্রিকেটে বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাস দীর্ঘ নয়। ১৯৭৪ সালে দেশের ক্রিকেট কন্ট্রোল বোর্ড প্রতিষ্ঠা হয়েছিল। ১৯৭৮ সালে বাংলাদেশ আইসিসির সদস্যপদ লাভ করে। আমাদের প্রথম এক দিনের আন্তর্জাতিক ম্যাচ পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে ছিল। বিশ্বকাপে অংশ নেওয়া বাংলাদেশের দীর্ঘ লালিত স্বপ্ন ছিল। ১৯৯৭ সালে যখন কেনিয়াকে হারিয়েছিল, এ স্বপ্ন সত্য হয়েছিল। একই বছরে বাংলাদেশ একদিন খেলায় মর্যাদা লাভ করে। ১৯৯৯ সালে আমাদের দেশ বিশ্বকাপে অংশগ্রহণ করে। ঐ বিশ্বকাপে বাংলাদেশ দুই দেশকে পরাজিত করে। সারা বিশ্ব আমাদের কৃতিত্ব দেখে অবাক হয়েছিল। ২০০০ সালে বাংলাদেশ টেস্ট মর্যাদা লাভ করে। ভারতের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের দেশ প্রথম টেস্ট ম্যাচ খেলেছিল।

বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট : আমাদের দেশ এখন অনেক ভালো করছে। এটা শক্তিশালী থেকে আরো শক্তিশালী হচ্ছে। যে কোন দেশের মুখামুখি হতে এখন বাংলাদেশের সাহস হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ বিশ্বে সকল ক্রিকেট খেলুড়ে দেশকে পরাজিত করেছে। বর্তমানে প্রত্যেক দেশ আমাদেরকে গুরুত্বসহকারে গ্রহণ করে। এখন অনেকের জন্য এটা একটা প্রিয় দল। কিছু নতুন মুখ আমাদের দলে প্রবেশ করেছে। তারা চৌকস। তারা আমাদের ভরসা। তারা ব্যাটিং এবং ফিলডিংয়ে তাদের দক্ষতা দেখাচ্ছে ।

এখন আমাদের অলস সময় নষ্ট করা উচিত নয়। আমাদের ক্রিকেটের জন্য কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে হবে। সরকার অবশ্যই আমাদের ক্রিকেটকে পৃষ্ঠপোষণ করবেন। আমাদের ক্রিকেট বোর্ড দুর্নীতিমুক্ত নয় এটা বলা হয়। সুতরাং সেখানে থেকে দুর্নীতি দূর করা উচিত। শুধু মেধাবীদের মনোনীত করা উচিত। সমগ্র দেশে অনেক মেধাবী ক্রিকেট খেলোয়াড় আছে। তাদেরকে খুঁজে বের করা উচিত। এর জন্য, আন্তঃজেলা ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়া উচিত।

 উপসংহার : পরিশেষে, আমরা বলতে পারি যে বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটের ভবিষ্যৎ উজ্জ্বল। এই খেলা বিশ্বের সাথে আমাদের দেশকে পরিচিত করেছে। আমরা আমাদের দলের প্রতি আশাবাদী। আমরা বিশ্বাস করি একদিন অবশ্যই বিশ্বকাপ জিতবো ।
