Introduction: Bangladesh is a small country with growing problems. Among all problems, corruption is a great. The problem has spread its evil clutch all over the country It is going from bad to worse. All we getting concerned with this problem Bangladesh has already been regarded as one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Definition of corruption: Corruption means adopting illegal practice to gain anything. It always goes against the Interest of others. Taking bribe, nepotism, misuse of power are some examples of corruption.

Corrupt sectors: The education department, the police department, the judicial department, the health department are the most corrupt sectors.

Causes: There are many causes behind it. The first and foremost cause is lack of morality. Lack of transparency and accountability is another cause. So-called politics and r lack of patriotism are also responsible for corruption. The problems of unemployment, illiteracy, population explosion also contribute to it. Other causes are social unawareness, lack of truth in education, weak administration and so on.

 Effects: Effects of corruption are many. Law and order situation is getting out of control for corruption. Corrupt people are becoming beast-like. It is hampering the over all development of the country. It has spoiled the image of the country. The foreigners have started hating us. Economic depression is going on throughout the country. In a word, the country is lagging behind from all quarters for it. No prosperity is possible for it.

Ways of solution: The following measures can be prescribed to solve the problem. Firstly, all should be truly educated. Secondly, corrupt persons must be punished. Thirdly. people should be made aware. Fourthly, problems of illiteracy, population and poverty should be removed. Fifthly, salary of low-paid employees should be increased. Sixthly, honest people should be appointed in jobs. Last of all, we should be right before giving any advice.

Conclusion: In fine. we can say that corruption is a great problem. It should be removed at any cost. It is high time we removed the problem. Conscious people should work together with the government in this regard. Otherwise, we all fall into a great danger.

ভূমিকা : বাংলাদেশ বাড়ন্ত সমস্যাসংকুল একটি ক্ষুদ্র দেশ। সকল সমস্যার মধ্যে দুর্নীতি অন্যতম একটি । সমগ্র দেশে এর সমস্যাকারী কুচক্রী দল ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। এটা মন্দ থেকে অধিকতর মন্দের দিকে ধাবিত হচ্ছে। সকলে এ সমস্যা নিয়ে উদ্বিগ্ন। বাংলাদেশ ইতিমধ্যে পৃথিবীতে সবচেয়ে দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত দেশগুলোর মধ্যে তালিকাভুক্ত হয়েছে।

দুর্নীতির সংজ্ঞা : দুর্নীতি বলতে অবৈধ উপায়ে কোন কিছু অর্জন করাকে বুঝায়। এটা সর্বদা অন্যদের স্বার্থের বিরুদ্ধে যায়। দুর্নীতির কিছু উদাহরণ হলো ঘুস নেওয়া, স্বজনপ্রীতি, ক্ষমতার অপব্যবহার করা।

দুর্নীতির খাতসমূহ : শিক্ষা বিভাগ, পুলিশ বিভাগ, বিচার বিভাগ, স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগ সবচেয়ে দুর্নীতিগ্রস্থ খাত ।

দুর্নীতির কারণ : দুর্নীতির পেছনে অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। প্রথম ও প্রধান কারণ হলো নৈতিকতার অভাব। অন্য একটি কারণ হলো স্বচ্ছতা এবং জবাবদিহিতার জন্য বাধ্যতার অভাব। তথাকথিত রাজনীতি এবং স্বদেশপ্রেমের অভাবও এজন্য দায়ী। বেকার সমস্যা, নিরক্ষরতা, জনসংখ্যা বিস্ফেরণও দুর্নীতিতে সহযোগিতা করে। অন্য কারণগুলো হলো সামাজিক অসচেতনতা, শিক্ষায় সততার অভাব, দুর্বল প্রশাসন ইত্যাদি।

ফলাফল : দুর্নীতির ফলাফল অনেক। দুর্নীতির জন্য আইনশৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণের বাইরে চলে যাচ্ছে। দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত মানুষ পশুর মতো হয়ে যাচ্ছে। সর্বোপরি এটা দেশের সকল উন্নতি ব্যাহত করছে। এটা দেশের ভাবমূর্তি নষ্ট করেছে। বিদেশিরা আমাদেরকে ঘৃণা করতে শুরু করছে। সমগ্র দেশে অর্থনৈতিক মন্দা বেড়ে যাচ্ছে। এককথায়, এর জন্য দেশ সব দিক থেকে পিছিয়ে যাচ্ছে। এর জন্য কোন উন্নতিই সম্ভব নয় ।

সমাধানের উপায় : এ সমস্যা সমাধানের করতে উল্লিখিত পদক্ষেপগুলো নির্দেশ করা যেতে পারে। প্রথমত, সকলকে যথাযথভাবে শিক্ষিত হওয়া উচিত। দ্বিতীয়ত, দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত ব্যক্তিদের অবশ্যই শাস্তি দিতে হবে। তৃতীয়ত, মানুষকে সচেতন করা উচিত। চতুর্থত, নিরক্ষরতা, জনসংখ্যা এবং দরিদ্রতাজনিত সমস্যা দূর করা উচিত। পঞ্চমত, কম বেতনের কর্মচারীদের বেতন বৃদ্ধি করা উচিত। ষষ্ঠত, চাকরিতে সৎলোক নিযুক্ত করা উচিত। পরিশেষে, কোন উপদেশ দেওয়ার আগে আমাদেরকে পরিশুদ্ধ হওয়া উচিত। 

উপসংহার : পরিশেষে, আমরা বলতে পারি দুর্নীতি একটা বড় সমস্যা। যে কোন মূল্যে এটা দূর করা উচিত। এ সমস্যা দূর করার জন্য এখনি উপযুক্ত সময়। এ জন্য সরকারের সাথে সচেতন মানুষেরও একত্রে কাজ করা উচিত। অন্যথায়, আমরা অত্যন্ত বিপদের মুখে পতিত হবো ।
