Right forms of verbs āĻāϰ āωāĻĒāϰ āϝে āϏāĻŽāϏ্āϤ āύিāϝ়āĻŽ āĻĒ্āϰāϝোāϜ্āϝ āϏেāĻ—ুāϞো āύিāϚে āĻĻেāĻ“āϝ়া āĻšāϞ।

Important rules of right forms of verbs are given below: 


Rule 1. Present Indefinite Tense āĻāϰ subject āϝāĻĻি third person singular number āĻšā§Ÿ āϤাāĻšāϞে verb āĻāϰ āĻļেāώে s, es āϝোāĻ— āĻšāĻŦে। āĻ•িāύ্āϤু āĻāχāύিāϝ়āĻŽāϟি āĻļুāϧুāĻŽাāϤ্āϰ āĻĒ্āϰেāϜেāύ্āϟ āχāύ্āĻĄিāĻĢিāύিāϟ āϟেāύ্āϏ āĻāϰ āĻĒ্āϰāϝোāϜ্āϝ, āĻ…āύ্āϝ āĻ•োāύ tense āĻāϰ āĻ•্āώেāϤ্āϰে āĻšāĻŦে āύা।
He eats rice.
He plays cricket.

Present Indefinite Tense āĻāϰ subject āϝāĻĻি plural number āĻšā§Ÿ āĻ…āϰ্āĻĨাā§Ž āĻŦāĻšুāĻŦāϚāύ āĻšāϝ় āϤাāĻšāϞে verb āĻāϰ āĻļেāώে s/es āϝোāĻ— āĻšāĻŦে āύা।
They play football. āĻāĻ–াāύে āϏাāĻŦāϜেāĻ•্āϟ āĻĒ্āϞুāϰাāϞ āϤাāχ s/es āϝুāĻ•্āϤ āĻšāϝ় āύি।


Rule 2. Present Indefinite Tense āĻāϰ subject, third person singular number āĻšāϞেāĻ“ āϏেāϟি  āϝāĻĻি āĻĻেāĻ–া āϝাāϝ় āĻāϟি āĻāĻ•āϟি negative sentence, āϤাāĻšāϞে does not āĻŦ্āϝāĻŦāĻšাāϰ āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāĻŦে। āϤāĻ–āύ verb āĻāϰ āĻļেāώে s/es āϝোāĻ— āĻ•āϰাāϰ āĻ•োāύ āĻĒ্āϰāϝ়োāϜāύ āύেāχ।
Rashid does not go to school.
Laila does not eat rice.

Rule 3. Past tense or future tense āĻšāϞে verb āĻāϰ āĻļেāώে s/es āϝোāĻ— āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāĻŦে āύা। āϤāĻ–āύ āϏেāχ tense āĻāϰ structure āĻ…āύুāϝা⧟ী verb āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
They went to school.
I will go to school.


Rule 4. Modal Auxiliary verb (āϝেāĻŽāύ: can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, ought to, need, dare, have to, must etc.) āĻāχ āϏāĻŽāϏ্āϤ āĻŽāĻĄেāϞ āĻ…āĻ•্āϏিāϞাāϰি āĻ­াāϰ্āĻŦ verb āĻāϰāĻĒāϰ present form āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāϝ় āĻāĻŦং verb āĻāϰ āĻ•োāύো āϰূāĻĒ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤāύ āĻŦা āĻ•োāύ āĻ•িāĻ›ু āϝুāĻ•্āϤ āĻšāϝ় āύা।
She can do the work.
I shall go to the college.
They must come home.
We should work hard.


Rule 5. āϝāĻĻি āĻāĻŽāύ āĻ•োāύ āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝ āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϝে āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝāϟি universal truth āĻŦা āϚিāϰāύ্āϤāύ āϏāϤ্āϝ āĻŦুāĻাāύো āĻšā§Ÿ, āĻ…āĻĨāĻŦা habitual fact āĻŦা āĻ…āĻ­্āϝাāϏāĻ—āϤ āĻ•াāϜ āĻŦুāĻাāύো āĻšāϝ়, āϤাāĻšāϞে present indefinite tense āĻĻিāϝ়ে āĻļূāύ্āϝāϏ্āĻĨাāύ āĻĒূāϰāĻŖ āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
The sun rises in the east.
Ice floats on water.


Rule 6. āϝāĻĻি āĻĻেāĻ–া āϝাāϝ় āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ Sentence āϟি passive voice āĻ āĻĻেāĻ“āϝ়া āφāĻ›ে āĻāĻŦং modal auxiliary verb - can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, ought to, need, dare, have to, must etc. āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি āĻĻেāĻ“āϝ়া āφāĻ›ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰে be + past participle form of verb āĻāχ āϏ্āϟ্āϰাāĻ•āϚাāϰ āϟি āĻĒ্āϰāϝোāϜ্āϝ āĻšāĻŦে।
This work can be done by you.
All the fruits could be bought.


Rule 7. āĻ•িāĻ›ু āĻ•িāĻ›ু āĻ­াāϰ্āĻŦাāϞ phrase āφāĻ›ে āϝেāĻŽāύ Had, rather, let, would better, had better, need not, do not, does not, did not, did never, āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি, āϤাāĻšāϞে āψāĻĻেāϰ āĻĒāϰ present form of verb āĻŦāϏে।
I let them use my car.
You had better go to the market.


Rule 8. āϝāĻĻি āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝে have/has  āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āϤāĻ–āύ āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏāϟিāĻ•ে present perfect tense āĻ āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে। āĻāĻŦং āĻŽূāϞ verb-āĻāϰ āĻĒাāϏ্āϟ āĻĒাāϰ্āϟিāϏিāĻĒāϞ āĻĢāϰ্āĻŽ āĻ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
She has done the work.
I have eaten rice.


Rule 9. āϝāĻĻি āĻĻেāĻ–া āϝাāϝ় āϝে, Sentence āĻ yet, just, just now, recently, already, lately, ever āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি adverb āϰāϝ়েāĻ›ে āϤাāĻšāϞে present perfect tense āĻšāĻŦে।
He has taken his breakfast just now.

You have already come home.


Rule 10. Sentence āĻ āϝāĻĻি yesterday, ago, long ago, last year, last week, last month, that day, day before, āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏāϟিāĻ•ে past indefinite tense āĻ āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
She came home
They went to Cox’s Bazar last month.

Rule 11. āĻŽāύে āϰাāĻ–āϤে āĻšāĻŦে To āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰে āϏāĻŦāϏāĻŽā§Ÿ verb āĻāϰ present form āĻŦāϏে। āĻ•াāϰāĻŖ āĻāϟি āϤāĻ–āύ āχāύāĻĢিāύিāϟিāĻ­ verb āĻšিāϏাāĻŦে āĻ•াāϜ āĻ•āϰāĻŦে।
You need to do the work in time.
They went to the market to buy a shirt.


Rule 12. āϝāĻĻি Since āĻŦা for āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ āϏāĻŽā§Ÿেāϰ āωāϞ্āϞেāĻ– āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤাāĻšāϞে āϏেāχ sentence-āĻ•ে present perfect continuous tense āĻ āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
She has been doing the work since the morning.
It has been raining for three hours.


Rule 13. āϝāĻĻি āĻĻুāϟি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏ if āĻĻ্āĻŦাāϰা āϝুāĻ•্āϤ āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āĻāĻŦং if clause āϟি āϝāĻĻি present indefinite tense āĻ āĻĻেāϝ়া āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤাāĻšāϞে āĻĒāϰেāϰ clause āϟি future indefinite tense āĻāĻŽāύāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
If she comes, I’ll go.
If you work hard, you’ll shine in life.


Rule 14. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏে With a view to/look forward to āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āĻāĻĻেāϰ āĻĒāϰ verb āĻāϰ āϏাāĻĨে ing āϝোāĻ— āĻšāĻŦে।
I’m looking forward to getting a visa.
I went shopping with a view to buying a computer.


Rule 15. By āĻāĻ•āϟি āĻĒ্āϰিāĻĒāϜিāĻļāύ āĻāĻŦং āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ verb āĻāϰ āϏাāĻĨে ing āϝোāĻ— āĻšāĻŦে।
She expressed her intense feelings by crying.
By digging the land, he planted trees.


Rule 16. āĻāĻ›াāĻĄ়াāĻ“ āĻ…āύ্āϝাāύ্āϝ āĻĒ্āϰিāĻĒāϜিāĻļāύ āϝেāĻŽāύ For, of, in, without, with, before, after āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি preposition āĻĨাāĻ•āϞে āĻāĻĻেāϰ āĻĒāϰ verb āĻāϰ āϏাāĻĨে ing āϝোāĻ— āĻšā§Ÿ।
I’ve never been tired of running.
She can’t go without waiting for her friend.


Rule 17. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏে Mind, would you mind, past, worth, could not help, cannot help āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āĻāĻĻেāϰ āĻĒāϰ verb āĻāϰ āϏাāĻĨে ing āϝোāĻ— āĻšā§Ÿ।
Would you mind giving me some money?
The students cannot help doing the assignment.


Rule 18. āϝāĻĻি Sentence āĻāϰ āĻļুāϰুāϤে would that āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে subject āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ could āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে āĻāĻŦং āĻāϰāĻĒāϰ verb āĻāϰ present form āĻĻিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
Would that I could be a writer Rabindranath Tagore.
Would that I could buy a new car.


Rule 19. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏে To be/having/got āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤাāĻšāϞে āĻāĻĻেāϰ āĻĒāϰ verb āĻāϰ past participle form āĻĻিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
The work is to be completed immediately.
The thief ran away having seen the police.

Rule 20. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏে (be) āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏ āĻāϰ āϏাāĻŦāϜেāĻ•্āϟ āĻ•োāύ person, number āĻāĻŦং āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏ āϟি āĻ•োāύ tense āϤা āϞāĻ•্āώ্āϝ āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāĻŦে āĻāĻŦং āϏে āĻ…āύুāϝা⧟ী am/is/are/was/were/been āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
It (be) five years ago.
It was two years ago.
Allah (be) everywhere.
Allah is everywhere.

Rule 21. āĻŦāϰ্āϤāĻŽাāύ āĻ•াāϞে āϚāϞāĻ›ে āĻŦা āĻŦāϰ্āϤāĻŽাāύāĻ•াāϞে āϚāϞāĻŽাāύ āφāĻ›ে āĻāϰāĻ•āĻŽ āĻŦোāĻাāϞে present continuous tense āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে। āĻāϏāĻŦ āĻ•্āώেāϤ্āϰে āϏাāϧাāϰāĻŖāϤ at present/now/at the moment āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি adverb āĻŦ্āϝāĻŦāĻšৃāϤ āĻšā§Ÿ āĻĨাāĻ•āϤে āĻĒাāϰে āφāĻŦাāϰ āύা-āĻ“ āĻĨাāĻ•āϤে āĻĒাāϰে।
He is watching the movie now.
They are playing football.

Rule 22. āϝāĻĻি āĻāĻŽāύ āϏ্āϟ্āϰাāĻ•āϚাāϰ āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϝেāĻŽāύ If + Present Indefinite + Future Indefinite āĻ…āϰ্āĻĨাā§Ž if āϝুāĻ•্āϤ clause āϟি present indefinite tense āĻĻেāϝ়া āĻĨাāĻ•āϞে āĻĒāϰেāϰ clause āϟি  future indefinite tense āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
If you come, I’ll go.
If you drink milk, you will be healthy.


Rule 23. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏ āĻ had āĻŦা if āϝুāĻ•্āϤ clause āĻĨাāĻ•ে āĻāĻŦং āϤা past indefinite tense āĻĻেāϝ়া āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤাāĻšāϞে āĻĒāϰেāϰ clause āϟি āϤে subject āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ would/could/might āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে āĻāĻŦং verb āĻāϰ present form āĻ āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
If she came, I would go to the market.
If I were rich, I would help the poor.
āϝāĻĻি had/if āϝুāĻ•্āϤ clause āϟি past perfect tense āĻ āĻĻেāϝ়া āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰেāϰ clause āϟি āϤে subject āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ would have/could have/might have āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে āĻāĻŦং verb āĻāϰ past participle form āĻĻিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
If she had come, I would have gone to the market.
If you had walked fast, you could have reached the station in time.


Rule 24. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏ āĻ Wish/fancy/it is time/it is high time āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤাāĻšāϞে verb āĻāϰ past tense āĻĻিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
I wish I won GPA 5.
It is high time you changed your bad habits.

Rule 25. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏ āĻ As if āĻŦা as though āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āψāĻĻেāϰ āĻĒāϰ were āĻŦāϏে।
He speaks as if he were the leader.
She acts as though she were a heroine.


Rule 26. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏে āĻ Each, every, everyone, any, anyone, many a, everybody, everything, anybody, nobody, no one, nothing, anything, someone, something, one of, either, neither āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি āϏাāĻŦāϜেāĻ•্āϟ āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে verb āĻāϰ singular number āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
Each of the students was present.
One of the students was very lazy.
Neither of the two brothers was present in the class.


Rule 27. āϝāĻĻি āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏে While āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ verb āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāĻšāϞে āϏেāχ verb āϏাāĻĨে ing āϝোāĻ— āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāĻŦে। āĻ•িāύ্āϤু while āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ āϝāĻĻি subject āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤāĻ–āύ sentence āϟি āĻ•ে past continuous tense āĻ āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।

While walking through the jungle, I saw a monkey.
While it was raining, I was watching a movie.


Rule 28. āĻ…āύেāĻ• āϏāĻŽā§Ÿ āĻāĻ•āχ āϏ্āĻĨাāύ, āĻĻৈāϰ্āϘ্āϝ āĻŦা āĻĒāϰিāĻŽাāĻĒ āĻĻেāĻ“āϝ়া āĻĨাāĻ•āϞে āϤāĻ–āύ subject āĻĻেāĻ–āϤে āĻ…āύেāĻ•āϟা plural āĻŽāύে āĻšāϞেāĻ“ āφāϏāϞে verb āϟি singular form āĻ āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
Twenty miles is a long way.
Two hundred miles is a long distance for this boy.


Rule 29. āϝāĻĻি Main clause āĻāϰ verb āϟি past tense āĻ āĻĨাāĻ•ে āĻ“ āĻĒāϰেāϰ āĻ…ংāĻļে next day, next week, next month, next year āχāϤ্āϝাāĻĻি āωāϞ্āϞেāĻ– āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤāĻ–āύ subject āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰে should/would āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
He told that he would go home the next day.
She said that she would buy a car the next week.


Rule 30. If time is mentioned after before or since āĻ…āϰ্āĻĨাā§Ž āφāĻĢāϟাāϰ āĻŦা āĻŦিāĻĢোāϰ āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰে āϝāĻĻি āϏāĻŽāϝ় āωāϞ্āϞেāĻ– āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤāĻ–āύ āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏে āĻ After āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰ āĻāĻŦং before āĻāϰ āφāĻ—ে āϝে clause āϟি āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤা past perfect tense āĻšāĻŦে āĻāĻŦং āĻ…āύ্āϝ clause āϟি past indefinite tense āĻ āĻšāĻŦে।
The train had left the station before I reached.
The doctor came after the patient had died.


Rule 31. āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ āϏেāύ্āϟেāύ্āϏ āĻĻি āϝāĻĻি Passive voice āĻ āĻĻেāϝ়া āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤāĻ–āύ tense āĻ“ person āĻ…āύুāϝা⧟ী auxiliary verb āĻ“ verb āĻāϰ past participle form āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšāĻŦে।
English is spoken all over the world.
We are taught English by our teacher.


Rule 32. āĻ•িāĻ›ু āĻ•িāĻ›ু āĻŦ্āϝāϤিāĻ•্āϰāĻŽ āφāĻ›ে, āĻŦ্āϝāϤিāĻ•্āϰāĻŽāĻ—ুāϞো āĻ›া⧜া Principle clause āĻāϰ verb āϝāĻĻি past tense āĻ āĻšā§Ÿ āϤাāĻšāϞে subordinate clause āĻāϰ verb āĻ“ past tense āĻāχ āύিāϤে āĻšāĻŦে āĻāĻŦং āĻāĻ•āϟি present tense āĻšāϞে āĻ…āύ্āϝāϟিāĻ“ present tense āĻšāĻŦে।
She was so ill that she would not go to the college.
I understood that she would not come.
